Personal SPP Earnings
Why do investments in solar power pay off?
The revenue from an investment in a solar power plant depends on
construction costs and on incomes. Construction costs range between EUR 1,500 and EUR 1,900 per kWp, while incomes depend on whether we have acquired a declaration for production machinery, machinery as this allows the right to obtain feed-in tariffs.
Calculation:
The calculation of income from a 10 kWp solar power plant, which covers 80 m2, and has an annual yield of 11,000kW of electricity.
With the purchase price for the second half of 2012 being at EUR 197.55 per kWh, the annual income comes to EUR 2,173.
Subsidies
The price of the set purchase of electricity from renewable energy sources (RES), from solar power systems, placed on buildings or structures:
|
The set purchase price (EUR / MWh) |
Size class of production machinery |
On buildings or constructions (connection until 30 June 2012) |
On buildings or constructions (connection until 31 December 2012) |
micro (< 50 kW) |
290.82 |
197.55 |
small (< 1 MW) |
266.01 |
180.70 |
medium (up to 10 MW) |
220.75 |
149.95 |
The price of the set purchase of electricity from renewable energy sources (RES), from
Free-standing solar power systems:
|
The set purchase price (EUR / MWh) |
Size class of production machinery |
Free-standing structures (connection until 30 June 2012) |
Free-standing structures (connection until 31 December 2012) |
micro (< 50 kW) |

The price of the set purchase of electricity is determined with a contract for 15 years and does not change during the entire contract period.
The above mentioned subsidies only apply for solar power plants that were connected to the grid in 2012 as they are lowered each following year, according to the applicable decree.
